Homework assignment to client/group

1. client to continue asana including the new practice of heel breathing in tadasana after the tree pose. Wanted to add a breath practice after gentle motions to end the practice.
2. continue using mantra to challenge negative thoughts.
3. continue dance practice.
4. continue outside walking in nature and Zumba.

Activities

1. reviewed homework.
2. client has been using mantra during times when she has negative thoughts. She has been doing asana sequence daily.
3. parents report client has had no episodes of agitation in the last week.
4. taught tadasana with grounding breathing after the modified tree pose. Client stands firmly on the floor and breathes through her heels, imagining the breath going to bilateral hip areas then exiting through heels. Client was able to do this with her mother teaching her as well. She did not close her eyes and was not instructed to do so.
This would be the end of that asana sequence. Sequence is as follows:
Tadasana
Bilateral arm abduction and adduction
Hip circles
Bouncy Twists
Tree Pose (with chair support, modified)
Tadasana with breathing through heels breath

Danced with client in session to her music choice.

Discussed the use of Affirmation cards and mother liked this idea. She agrees to look for How To Love Yourself Cards by Louise Hay online for next week's session.

Client/Group progress summary

Overall, client is improving; episodes of agitation in last week as reported by parents are zero.

Reflection and self-evaluation

This has been a challenging case. The client is improving with a lot of work on her part and the part of her parents; their concepts of the client as being a person with a disease is gradually developing as well.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

1. review asana with closing heel breathing.
2. do affirmation cards--read one in session with client; she is to read that one every day until the next session; will start this next week.

Report briefly on each Kosha belowProgress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas
