| Homework assignment to client/group | 1. client to continue belly massage/breath practices in AM and PM and can asked client and mother to listen to recording of body scan two or three times a week (may even try before school if there is time). |
| Activities | Reviewed client's symptoms with mother at the beginning of session. Client showed me a picture of his fort at home and also of his Lego house that he built for his family. Mother states it is becoming easier to separate from him as he leaves to go to school. He still clings, but less crying/fussing, and he has been able to go to school all days of the week last week. No teacher calls asking her to come pick him up. Reviewed belly massage, three part breathing, and alternate nostril breathing (using index finger). Client was quite calm after this. He allowed his mother to leave the room without fuss. We built Legos together and chatted about how school was going. He was able about his teacher being very kind. He has a friend at school he likes to talk to who also gets upset when his mom leaves. Client, notably, still had mother's necklace. Taught client body scan. He relaxed into this practice easily and I was also cautious to keep it brief. He kept his eyes open. We invited mother back into room and then we did the body scan practice again, teaching her. She recorded my voice on her phone. |
| Client/Group progress summary | client is progressing well; calmer in session and he is able to stay in the room alone more easily that during first session; belly pain has not been a prominent symptom and has improved. Going to school more than in the past. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | 1. review current practices and also try to add tense/release to body scan to see if client is able to engage in this. |
