Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Date you started seeing client/group08/05/2024
Total hours of all Yoga Therapy sessions with this client/group to date4 75 minute session and assessment which I believe was 60 minutes (about 6 hours total)
Adjustments and adaptations you made to your care plan,

I had to make sure I adapted our sessions to include some time away from mother, so I made sure I saw him separately each time; the time he could spend with me away from mom increased over time; doing this helped me to gauge his progress. Also, I was sure to include his mom when teaching practices; in this way, she would be able to use the skills for herself and also to help him when he got anxious using the skills. Bonding between them in a space in which they were both safe was key. It was useful to utilize his natural talent of building to help him make a safe and healing space.

Client/Group Goals

client with improvement of school attendance, separating from mother, and stomach pains.

Report briefly on each Kosha belowProgress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas
Physical level

Belly aches improved and so did insomnia.

Energetic level

Anxious energy improved, so that energy was more from his true self.

Emotional

Less fear was seen in both his interactions with me and his mother. Less clinging and more feelings of trust.

Intellectual / Sense of self

The client is still developing a sense of self, as he is 7 yrs old. The attachment between his mother and himself is becoming more secure and his helping his thoughts so that they can feel more stable. The practice of keeping an object of hers with him helped him to feel she was still around when she left.

Spiritual orientation and support plan

The client and his mother do not have an established spiritual practice; it is my hope that they will continue the practices we worked on together and that over time these can grow.

Additional Information
Feedback received from client/group, anecdotal or written

Mom expressed gratitude; she was aware we would be meeting again and was very clear that she wanted us to continue our sessions.

The client was also grateful.

Sample of homework given between sessions (after initial homework)

Alternate nostril breathing to be added to 3 part breathing every morning and night.
Client to use his fort at home and to have a safe space at school if possible.

Personal reflection from doing client/group.
Rough estimate of time spent in preparation and follow up documentation per session120
What you would change with benefit of hindsight

I would have liked to have spoken about diet and exercise a bit more; we didn't touch on this during the four session together, but I will continue to work with them and plan to discuss diet.

Questions, problems, areas in which you’d like more support

it would have been helpful to have the therapist in the room for more of the sessions; in this way we could be on the same page about practices.

Did you enjoy your service?

Absolutely. Nothing is more rewarding than working with kids and I loved our time to play.
