| Session Instructions (Not Mentoring) | Your session outline should be a practice adapted to the needs of that client, including:
Tools from each module should be used (not on each client – but overall) |
| Session Date | 05/07/2024 |
| Session Number | 1 |
| Total Session Minutes | 90 |
| Homework assignment to client/group | This client's homework is to sit in silence with no technology for at least a few minutes before bed and observe how the mind feels when he does so. He also is to continue with his pranayama practice, for at least a few minutes 2-3 times a day. |
| Activities | Kosha check in, raja yoga wisdom teaching, and a rishikesh series yoga practice including the main postures of leg lifts, sun salutations, cobra, locust, dynamic paschimottanasana, wide legged forward fold, shoulderstand, balasana, reclined pigeon, and then a restorative supine twist. Pranayama practice included Nadi Shodhana, dirgha pranayama, and box breathing. We did yoga nidra, silent meditation, and then closed with a brief chant. |
| Client/Group progress summary | This was our first session, but I felt we are already building a strong rapport. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | I feel that I got carried away with a lot of talking at the beginning, but things went smoothly once we really got going. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | Next session will be similar, but will include a Jnana Yoga wisdom teaching, and we will likely introduce kapalabhati. |
| Report briefly on each Kosha below | Progress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas |
| Additional Information | |
| Personal reflection from doing client/group. | |
| Notify Mentor? | Do not notify Mentor (choose if you wish to continue working on this entry later) |
