Client/Group progress summary

The ability to move while practicing was noted. Client was asked for comments on what felt good and what didn't. Seemed pleased to be able to add asanas today, some of which were her PT exercises, per client.

Client commented on the long Yoga Nidra meditation for chronic pain relief. She said that just as she noticed that her mind was wandering, we came to the part of meeting pain with awareness of sensation, breath, energy, emotions, and cognitions. Noting the sensation and giving it color was a new experience that she said she liked. She also liked the length of the relaxation.

We talked about staying away from social media and the news which she found difficult to do this past week. Using Motivational Interviewing, she was asked what she could replace it with that would benefit her well-being. This led into today's Om Work prompt, "What is the most beautiful sight you have recently been able to experience."

Reflection and self-evaluation

Leaving enough time for the meditation and YN will be important to calculate in advance. We were together longer than planned. I didn't feel I could cut the YN short. I could feel my own anxiety while reading the script and needed in the longer pauses to calm myself.

I need to consider to ask the client if she wants to talk about the journaling prompts in each session or would she prefer that to be kept private. Of course, each time it may vary.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

Introduce some new asanas, a new breathing technique as PAM has expressed an interest in learning more, better plan my timing, and continue the discussion of Sutra 1.14.
