Client/Group progress summary

Good session with client. We talked about objective vs. subjective assessment of her progress through our work together. She has lots of subjective examples.
Lots going on lately - she discussed her recent agitated and reactive state. We discussed boundaries and her Purusha and checking in - Gunas assessment. What do I need now? Has a house guest very difficult to be with at times. We talked about boundaries and imagining a white light enveloping her when friend is acting up. She doesn't have to take on her stuff. How can she show up in a loving way while taking care of herself?

Client has been especially concerned about her younger sister, who lives in Tampa Bay w/ Hurricane Milton less than 24 hours from making landfall. Sister had decided not to evacuate. We talked about Stress Response. Agreed perhaps sister is in 'Freeze' mode. Client mentioned how she can't stop worrying about her. I mentioned Pratipaksha Bhavana, then suggested a lovingkindess meditation. We sat for about 10 minutes breathing and sending her sister love, light, safely and peace. She was thrilled and said going forward whenever she started worrying, she'd just breathe and send her love, light, peace and safety. Loved the idea of redirecting her energy and noted how it helped her relax and calm down while hopefully being of benefit to her sister.

Reflection and self-evaluation

So glad to be in the moment and help her redirect her worrisome and preoccupation to a Lovingkindness meditation. I need to remember to do that with situations that are out of my control - that is most everything. Came up with an acronym: PB&J - that is, "Pratipaksha Bhavana and Jai!!"

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

More of the same. We'll discuss more about wrapping up our work together in this Captsone phase as well as assessment and feedback.
