Activities

This report is for the session on 8/30,9/27

8/30
I began today's session by asking her how she was feeling and if she had noticed any physical or mental changes or challenges since our last meeting.
She reported her pain has improved, she believed her daily gentle stretch awareness to her posture is helping alleviate her pain.

Today’s practice began with brief guided meditation, and 3 rounds of sun salutation, and seated postures. To end the session, I led 15 minutes of yoga nidra and a brief meditation.

9/27

I began today's session by asking her how she was feeling and if she had noticed any physical or mental changes or challenges since our last meeting.
She shared her experience at a recent yoga retreat experience at Sedona AZ where one participant, who was described as selfish and negative, had a significant impact on others.
She reported that it was an unpleasant experience, but she has learned the importance of self-care, understanding, and compassion toward others.
I briefly talked about the teaching of yoga philosophy she has learned, I encouraged her to practice those and apply her daily life.

Today’s practice began with brief guided meditation and 3 rounds of sun salutation, and seated postures. To end the session, I led 15 minutes of yoga nidra and a brief meditation.

Client/Group progress summary

Katie expressed how yoga has transformed her approach to inner peace, this is a big progress.
She has shown physical improvement by paying attention to her posture and avoiding hyperextension when she moves. This has helped reduce the pain in her neck and shoulders.
She has learned the four locks and keys, as well as pratipaksha bhavana, which she can use when she feels her mind is not steady

Reflection and self-evaluation

She stated that she does not care how she looks in the pose anymore, she now focuses on her mind, inner peace, and she is practicing the crow pose in a calm environment, focusing on mental stability. This was the last session with her and I have seen her progress and I am looking forward to seeing her in my class.

The care plan for Katie works well, the big factor is her motivation to improve her physical and mental well-being to be happier.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

I suggested that Katie continue with this plan, particularly focusing on maintaining good posture and taking time for self-care.
