| Session Date | 10/08/2024 |
| Session Number | 5 |
| Total Session Minutes | 90 |
| Homework assignment to client/group | Client is to practice contentment to the best of his ability, and find somewhere he can incorporate devotion into his life, in addition to continuing his daily asana and pranayama sadhana. |
| Activities | Today we did a kosha awareness check in rather than a verbal kosha check in, and then moved into some of the chair yoga we practiced in May. We got right into the adapted chair yoga practice, including self-massage, neck movements, cat/cow, seated cobra, seated bridge, seated camel, seated forward fold, wide legged forward fold, standing dynamic forward fold on chair back, some warrior movements with the chair as a prop, wide legged forward fold with head on chair seat for an inversion, a seated twist, and then viparita karani with a guided yoga nidra practice. Following that, we moved into pranayama - nadi shodhana, extended exhale, and resonance breathing. Then, we moved to a guided Karma Yoga meditation and a wisdom teaching about bhakti yoga. |
| Client/Group progress summary | Client feels that he has regressed since we initially met and intends to get back to his practice, though he has been struggling with nerve pain in his neck. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | This was a little awkward for me, as it has been a few months since we saw each other. It felt good to get back to working with him, though I can see the importance of consistency for both the yoga therapist and the client. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | Next session I plan to keep the format basically the same, with the addition of an introduction to karma yoga. |
| Report briefly on each Kosha below | Progress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas |
| Additional Information | |
| Personal reflection from doing client/group. | |
| Notify Mentor? | Do not notify Mentor (choose if you wish to continue working on this entry later) |
