| Homework assignment to client/group | Client is to continue his asana and pranayama practices, taking some extra time for yoga nidra this week. He also is to continue to cultivate devotion. |
| Activities | Today we did a guna discussion and check in today. We then moved into pranayama - Nadi Shodhana with 1:4:2 breath retentions, Kapalabhati, and box breathing. Then, we moved onto an adapted chair yoga practice, including self-massage, neck movements, cat/cow, seated cobra, seated bridge, seated easy flow (6 movements of the spine), seated forward fold, dynamic wide legged forward fold with side bends, standing dynamic forward fold on chair back, ragdoll forward fold with knees bent and head on chair seat, a supine twist, and then yoga nidra, a karma yoga guided meditation and wisdom teaching |
| Client/Group progress summary | Client seems to be back on track, though is being held up by the pain in his neck. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | The Karma Yoga wound up not being a great fit at this time, as we got into discussion, it seems that this client seems to deal with a kind of codependency or related psychological issue that is not within my scope of practice to address. We are going to focus more on what this client can and will do for himself for now. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | Plan for next session is to discuss and work on the Jnana Yoga ideas of burning desire for liberation and the twin practice of dispassion / vairagya, in addition to our regular rishikesh series, pranayama, and yoga nidra. We will also discuss sutra 1.12 of Patanjali's yoga sutras, which goes into practice and non attachment. |
