| Activities | I began today’s session by asking Dan if he had experienced any new challenges or changes since our last meeting. He described how weather changes affect his physical and mental state, but he can manage it through breathing and eye movement practice. I led a few minutes of breathing practice and eye movement practice. We moved to physical practice, joint freeing on the chair, chair yoga seated cat/cow, spinal twist, and forward bending while holding back of the chair which he enjoys as he can stretch his lower back enough. After that, balancing practice including heel-to-toe walking, |
| Client/Group progress summary | His daily practice has improved the pain in his right upper back, where he has an incision. He described the pain as a 7 on the pain scale when we started the session, and it has now reduced to a 2. The stretching has helped to relax, stretch, and strengthen the muscles |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | It’s been 5 months since I began the session with Dan. I learned that even though Dan is now cancer-free, he is still experiencing multiple issues. Many other cancer survivors are the same,I hadn't realized before. Working with Dan taught me, yoga therapy can help reduce his pain as well as manage his stress and anxiety. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | I will continue to follow this care plan for the next several sessions, additional asana will be introduced gradually to strengthen his physical body. |
