Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.

Adjustments and adaptations you made to your care plan,

I had to divide Dr. Loren Fishman’s series into two parts. Each of those parts was taught at three levels of difficulty. I also had to adapt more to some students, like JD (my future capstone) and even Asanas level 1 (beginner).

Client/Group Goals

Any progress toward goals
The group goals were: to relieve stress, calm the mind, and be able to think clearly. To some degree and for most of them, the goals were reached.

Review and revision of goals.
The goals didn’t change.

Report briefly on each Kosha belowProgress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas
Physical level

JD had Afib and was taking medication to avoid blood clots, because of the fused spine her movements are limited. She didn’t have a DEXA scan at this point. She liked all the information but felt some spasms in her neck. R.G.C. had osteopenia, hipper parathyroids, dry eyes, depression, and anxiety. She practiced all the asanas but had some limitations on her right arm. She felt calmer and stronger. C.S.D. had osteoporosis in her right hip, and frozen big toe joints, she was doing lots of farm work and PT exercises. She had a PRP injection on her toe and hip. She had some limitations on hip joints. This sequence was hard for her, even with adaptations. She needed hip surgery, which will happen this following week. C.M.O.B. is currently pregnant, with some asanas limitations because of her condition. The asanas helped her to strengthen her body to give birth.

Energetic level

Two of them had low levels of energy in the afternoon and the other two had low energy in general. This condition was improved with yoga. They practiced the suggested pranayamas.

Emotional

In general low level of stress. CMOB has ADHD and is very distracted. R has a higher level of stress, she is passing through emotional problems with her husband who has Parkinson's and her beloved dog is dying of cancer. They improved their emotional state somewhat.

Intellectual / Sense of self

R is intellectually stimulated by mystical studies, JD, and CSD by her Guru P. Yogananda. The sense of Self improved with the yoga philosophy.

Spiritual orientation and support plan

Spiritual orientation
J.D and CSD are devotees of Paramahansa Yogananda and Self Realization Fellowship members, CMOB is still forming a spiritual concept, and R. is Christian and spiritual, and believes in spiritual evolution. I didn’t notice changes in the spiritual orientation.
Support plan
Observe breath and sensations in the body.
Observe negative thoughts related to yourself and others
Journaling.
Practice Kirtan Kriya.

“You are truly a blessing.”
“Thank you so much, Anna! You are a gift -- a spiritual guide. It is true, simply fact.”
“I love that you are showing us how to do chair yoga!”
“Our meetings are so beautiful! Congratulations!”

Sample of homework given between sessions (after initial homework)

1. Observe ahimsa in your practice. Ask yourself: What do I do to take care of my body?
2. Practice the 5 last asanas of Dr Fishman's series, or less asanas, or more.
3. Respect your body and remember to observe your breath and alignment.

Personal reflection from doing client/group.
Rough estimate of time spent in preparation and follow up documentation per session5 h
What you would change with benefit of hindsight

I would have used other forms of measurement like a well-being scale.

Questions, problems, areas in which you’d like more support

More support in informed trauma material.
Online limitations to observe the clients.

Did you enjoy your service?

Yes. This group was engaged and I was doing what I love.
