Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.

Adjustments and adaptations you made to your care plan,

I didn’t make much adjustments. I just gave more time for her savasanas than I expected, because she needed that.

Client/Group Goals

Any progress toward goals
Her goals were to regain connection to Self and restore mental health. At the last session, I could see a spark in her eyes and she had a more stable attitude in opposition to the first session when she cried a lot.

Review and revision of goals.
The goals didn’t change.

Report briefly on each Kosha belowProgress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas
Physical level

She didn’t exercise much, just when she taught a yoga class which is not regular. Her personal practice had "suffered in the past year" She liked to walk but didn't do it much during winter. Her general health is good. I noticed that although she was full-figured she had great mobility and flexibility. She didn’t have many changes in her physical body.

Energetic level

She had very little energy, yarning even during Sun Salutations, speaking slowly, and taking time to answer questions. She was in a tamasic state. She said cold was very hard on her, this and her depression could justify a vata mind. At the last session, she showed a higher level of energy.

Emotional

She cried during the session. She was depressed, and feeling without support. She felt tired and lethargic. Her very high level of stress probably took her to a lethargic state. From Rajas to Tamas. At the last session, she showed more emotional stability.

Intellectual / Sense of self

She liked to read about everything and talk to interesting people who could add something worthwhile to her life. She wanted to be part of a sangha. Her sense of Self improved with our discussions and Self-awareness.

Spiritual orientation and support plan

Spiritual Orientation
She had no specific religion and loved to serve in communities and nature. She was searching for a spiritual path. She knew she was on earth to learn, teach, and create a conscious community.

Support Plan
Asanas to help her be strong mentally and connect internally
Progressive relaxation (SMTT)
Pranayama: bhastrika (Yoga for depression)/bioenergetic grounding, breath awareness, 3-part breath (SMTT)
Meditation: breath awareness/ kirtan kriya SA TA NA MA/ finding my purpose meditation

Additional Information
Feedback received from client/group, anecdotal or written

“You were wonderful to work with, I really wish you the best in your practice, and thank you for teaching people how to care for themselves.”

Sample of homework given between sessions (after initial homework)

1. Continue with the awareness of breath and body.
a) Take deep breaths during the day when you remember to do that. You can set an alarm on your watch to stop for 1 minute to take a deep breath)
b) Focus on the breath, not on the thoughts. Let the thoughts pass like clouds in the sky and gently bring your mind back to your breath.
2. Continue with your journaling practice, about anything that comes to your mind.
3. Practice the SA TA NA MA, or kirtan kriya meditation, you can do it in 6 or 12 minutes every day. You can practice before sleep.
4. Continue practicing progressive relaxation before sleep, as we did together. Tensing each part of your body and relaxing. Tensing the part when you inhale and release when you exhale. Observe the difference.

Personal reflection from doing client/group.
Rough estimate of time spent in preparation and follow up documentation per session5
What you would change with benefit of hindsight

I can’t think of something I would do differently with what I knew at that time.

Questions, problems, areas in which you’d like more support

More support in informed trauma material.
Lack of experience, she was my first client.

Did you enjoy your service?

Yes, I enjoyed seeing her bright face in the last session!
