Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.

Adjustments and adaptations you made to your care plan,

I don't feel that I have to make very many adjustments and adaptations to my care plan. This client was willing and able to do everything we had originally planned, and seemed to enjoy most of everything.

Client/Group Goals

Client has been progressing towards his goal of controlling his mind and controlling himself more. We did not decide to revise his goals as he didn't want to change anything.

Report briefly on each Kosha belowProgress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas
Physical level

Client reported feeling stronger and developing better balance. He also mentioned sleeping better and being better able to control his body.

Energetic level

Client mentioned actually paying attention to his breathing for the first time in his life. He also mentioned that he really liked doing the breathing exercises and plans to continue to do them. He says he has a lot of energy and vitality.

Emotional

Client mentioned that he feels his emotional health is improving, though he acknowledges he still struggles with his anger and cravings for substances. He acknowledges he still needs to work on his emotional regulation skills.

Intellectual / Sense of self

Client is not yet interested in deeper aspects of wisdom and life. He seemed initially interested in some wisdom teachings but says he much prefers the asana and pranayama aspects of yoga therapy.

Spiritual orientation and support plan

Client does not yet have any spiritual beliefs. He has his family there to support him, and has plans to meet with a Deaf therapist when he gets to the place his family is moving.

Additional Information
Feedback received from client/group, anecdotal or written

Client gave positive feedback, and his mother was thrilled that we were able to work together. Unfortunately, he is not interested in continuing our sessions online at this time as he doesn't like doing things virtually.

Sample of homework given between sessions (after initial homework)

His homework was to sit still, practice his breathing exercises, and track his sadhana.

Personal reflection from doing client/group.
Rough estimate of time spent in preparation and follow up documentation per session30 minutes.
What you would change with benefit of hindsight

I am not sure that I would have done anything differently, except perhaps prepared myself more by working through my own issues regarding adolescence, drug use, lying, manipulation, and related issues. Perhaps I'd benefit by seeing a talk therapist and/or yoga therapist of my own.

Questions, problems, areas in which you’d like more support

The biggest problem that came up for me while meeting with this client is that I couldn't really discern if he was being truthful or not, though I do feel I was projecting, which is something I will have to deal with myself, especially if I plan to continue to meet with clients like this.

Did you enjoy your service?

I did thoroughly enjoy my service. I did struggle with feelings that this client just wasn't going to get better and I was wasting my time, but again, I think that is more of a "me" issue than anything else.
