| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Number of sessions completed | 7 |
| Date you started seeing client/group | 05/15/2024 |
| Total hours of all Yoga Therapy sessions with this client/group to date | 10.5 |
| Adjustments and adaptations you made to your care plan, | The care plan was adjusted when he developed the nerve pain in his neck. We have transitioned more towards doing his physical therapy and related exercises and keeping the movement portion of the therapy light while still energetically beneficial, and focusing more on various meditation and pranayama techniques. During our last session, he mentioned wanting to continue to learn and practice a variety of techniques, so that is where we will focus moving forward. |
| Client/Group Goals | Client has made the most progress towards his goals of processing the end of a profound relationship and improving self-awareness. He has been getting better on a week-to-week basis, despite his break in Sadhana due to the nerve issue in his neck. His goals naturally shifted more towards self-empowerment and using yoga as a general tool for healing. |
| Report briefly on each Kosha below | Progress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas |
| Physical level | Client was making great progress physically, until the nerve pain showed up in his neck. Adaptation will be key moving forward. |
| Energetic level | Client has consistently reported feeling energized and has steady breathing patterns. His sleep has been suffering lately, though that is directly due to a new relationship, according to GOM. |
| Emotional | Client has been going through emotional ups and downs that he has mentioned every time we meet, though he reports things are getting better since he has been moving on. He did fall off his sadhana a little bit, but says he feels he has picked up where he left off and is making progress in regulating his emotions again. |
| Intellectual / Sense of self | Client has a vibrant intellectual life through his career and a strong sense of self. |
| Spiritual orientation and support plan | Client has been learning and experimenting with different spiritual ideas. He has found peace and utility in chanting, and plans to continue to study yoga, and potentially take a teacher training one day. |
| Additional Information | |
| Feedback received from client/group, anecdotal or written | Client gave positive feedback, will send him the google doc for more feedback. |
| Sample of homework given between sessions (after initial homework) | Some of his homework has been to sit still without technology before bed, practice yoga nidra, continue his asana and pranayama practices, practice contentment, develop devotion, practice the divine light invocation, and add in yoga "snacks" throughout the day. |
| Personal reflection from doing client/group. | |
| Rough estimate of time spent in preparation and follow up documentation per session | 30 minutes. |
| What you would change with benefit of hindsight | If I could go back to the start, I would implement the advice offered by Brahmi to set up a general guideline of "Now, we will do 10 minutes for a check-in," to avoid the excessive talking that hindered our early sessions. |
| Questions, problems, areas in which you’d like more support | I feel very supported and prepared, on the front end, for this client. Perhaps I could use some more information on nerve pain, specifically. |
| Did you enjoy your service? | I very much enjoyed my service and working with this client. I plan to continue to work with him, and I look forward to working with more men. Nothing against females - I just feel that there are many men who are suffering silently and for whom yoga could be a boon. "Every man has within him a lake of tears and a mountain of anger" |
