Presenting ProblemAC is presenting problem is elevated stress levels due to her daughter’s health issue and her own health issues. Also, she expressed chronic pain in her lower and upper back, neck, right knee, and right foot
Physical

AC's physical body seems affected by various ailments such as osteoporosis and occasional pains in different areas. These issues indicate some imbalance in her physical kosha. However, her ability to engage in activities like walking suggests that her physical kosha is relatively stable despite challenges.

Client/Group goalsAC’s goal is to improve her overall health, relax her mind, and increase flexibility.
Energetic

Due to the stress she faces, AC's energetic kosha may be affected. Stress, taking care of her late father's house, concern about her daughter's health, and her own health issues could potentially disrupt her energy flow, leading to feelings of fatigue or imbalance. Also her condition of low blood pressure is affecting her energy and causing fatigue. However, walking and listening to music may help to balance her energetic kosha to some extent.

Emotional

AC acknowledges experiencing elevated stress due to her daughter’s health and other issues. This indicates that her mental kosha may be affected by worry and anxiety. Her close relationship with three children helps her ability to maintain a positive outlook. However, she may be feeling loneliness due to living alone, her father’s death.

Spiritual orientation and needs

AC's spiritual orientation might lean towards ro compassion, resilience, gratitude, and interconnectedness. Also, AC expresses sadness about world violence and the betrayal of trust by influential individuals, this awareness of social justice and ethical considerations may be integral to her spiritual worldview

Intellectual / Sense of self

Despite her challenges, she seems to maintain a resilient and thoughtful mindset.
Andrea is likely reflective and resourceful, as seen in her capacity to manage the significant responsibilities of caring for her ill father and supporting her daughter during breast cancer treatment.
She does not have much yoga experience, but her willingness to practice when visiting her daughter suggests an openness to learning and self-improvement. This curiosity is aligned with her goal of improving her health, relaxing her mind, and increasing flexibility, indicating a desire for both physical and mental growth.
Andrea's sense of self is deeply connected to her role as a caregiver and mother. Her family, particularly her connection to her children, is a significant part of her identity.

Yoga philosophy/wisdom research reference(s)

What: Santosha (contentment) Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Sutra II.42 states, "By contentment, supreme joy is gained.”

Why I chose: AC has several issues to deal with including her health condition. If she can accept the current situation and appreciate what she has now, she can make herself calm and find inner peace within.

How to incorporate: Acceptance and gratitude practice. I will suggest a gratitude journal writing down things she is thankful for can increase her happiness and satisfaction.

Why I chose it: This study detailed the yoga poses they used, and it is 12 minutes daily practice. It is doable practice for my client with some modifications due to her physical condition.

How to incorporate: Some of the poses in this study won’t be available for Andrea, I will modify or skip some of those poses.

Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
