| Client/Group progress summary | The client felt pain from the outer hip down to the lateral side of the ankle (sciatic pain), especially when internally rotates the hip. Groin pain when externally rotates the hip is still there, but not severe. No pain in the lower back. The client cannot sit down toward the heel in the Child pose; the pain is at the hip, not the knee. The client limited hip flexion on the right side; cannot bring knee close to the chest. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | Since I do not know what cause the pain, the asana portion focused on stabilizing the hip (stretching and strengthening the psoas), strengthening hip adductor and stretching the piriformis. I suggested the client consult her doctor to find out the cause of the pain. I also reminded her about the benefit of meditation for pain management. She meditated daily, but then stopped for a few days and had not been doing it since. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | continue stabilizing the hip joint and strengthening and stretching the hip muscles. |
