| Homework assignment to client/group | Lately we have been talking more about discrimination and dispassion, and his assignments have consistently been related to taking a step back from his initial reactions to pain, frustration, anger, grief, and the other challenging experiences of life, and work to cultivate more witness-consciousness in those moments. This comes in addition to the daily pranayama and yoga nidra practice that he has been tracking. |
| Activities | Client and I have been experimenting with different types of meditations and pranayama practices in different orders since he is still having issues with his neck and we are limited in terms of the physical asana we can do. In our meditations, we have been working with different senses i.e. practicing auditory based meditations, guided visualizations, and meditations that are more kinesthetic in nature. We have also been engaging in wisdom teachings, which included discussions about the Bhagavad Gita and Krishna and Arjuna, and Shankaracharya and the Vivekachudamani. |
| Client/Group progress summary | GOM has still been making progress towards his goals and seems to have found a new inspiration with different forms of meditation and the Advaita Vedanta / Jnana yoga teachings. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | I can feel myself becoming more confident and my rapport with this client continues to grow. I feel it is time for me to focus on working with other clients but find it hard to tell him that I need to move on in order to continue to learn and grow as a yoga therapist. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | I think the next session will likely be our last, and I plan to introduce him to more resources of Swami Sivananda and Satchidanada's and try to come up with a new guided imagery and yoga nidra practice for him. |
