| Session Date | 11/07/2024 |
| Session Number | 2 |
| Total Session Minutes | 90 |
| Homework assignment to client/group | Client is to continue to practice his movement snacks continuously throughout the day, in addition to his pranayama practice at least once a day, morning or night. He is also to continue with the reading of the secular but inspirational "motivation manfesto" book he's been reading in lieu of playing his old video game at night. |
| Activities | Guna explanation and check in (limited to 10 minutes), Bhakti Yoga philosophy wisdom teaching, lying leg lifts, side lying king dancer flow to twist with emphasis on back bending, slow dynamic cobra, half bow posture, dynamic wide legged forward fold with side lunges, high lunge to pyramid, vrkshasana, paschimottanasana flow to seated boat, seated wide legged forward fold, half pigeon, supine twist, savasana, introduction to nadi shodhana, kapalabhati, extended exhale breathing, yoga nidra, sports visualization meditation. |
| Client/Group progress summary | Client seems to be making progress already and is very motivated to continue yoga therapy. he says he already is feeling less pain, less "heaviness" and anxiety, and is playing squash better. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | This session was ok, I felt like I couldn't articulate myself as clearly when talking about Bhakti Yoga. It would have served me to do a review right before and have more robust notes handy. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | Next session will be more of the same, while introducing more back bending options for him, and touching on Bhakti yoga again as I feel I didn't get across the point I was hoping to get across in terms of devotion and how it relates to emotional control and his goals. I need to do more research into reframing Bhakti Yoga for a secular population. |
