Client/Group progress summary

The client met with her doctor last week. The doctor told her that there are scare tissues on her lung (from x-ray) which are likely from being secondhand smoker. The doctor recommended strengthening muscles that facilitate breathing. We discussed the importance of abdominal breathing and how it can help improve the lung capacity (by strengthening the diaphragm and intercoastal muscles). The client’s mental well-being remains to be good. She was surprised how she was not feeling overwhelmed despite receiving a lot of information from her doctor.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I recommended the book ‘ A dog’s quest to be a Buddhist.’ The book is light read that filled with insights. While it focuses on Buddhist teaching and there are many similarities to yogic wisdom (mindfulness, non-attachment, compassion). The client loves the book and finds it very helpful.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
