Homework assignment to client/group

The client had not read a the new chapter on svadhyaya, self study, because she felt very cloudy in her head due to the sinus infection.
She did a bit of journaling and deep breathing
We agreed to the reading of svadhyaya next time.

Activities

M.K.contacted me and states that she is not feeling well and she would rather join our session today via zoom. She is experiencing a lot of congestion in her sinuses and has a slight headache. We agreed to meet via zoom and we would not incorporate any forward bends to not trigger her sinus pain.
We started out with centering checking in with the body. I asked her to pick an affirmation for her practice today.
Mountain pose.
shifting weight from left to right, hip circles,
3 arm raises with the focus on inhale and exhale, chest openers
tree pose to help with balance and focus
moon salutation including goddess pose
warrior two, not very long because she felt it in her right arm and armpit
shoulder rolls, standing cat cow
walking meditation
on the mat on an elevated reclining position on a bolster with her shoulders slightly pulled down by gravity (she finds this comfortable)
tense and release, followed by focusing on the breath breathing new energy in and letting go of the old followed by a guided meditation.

Client/Group progress summary

She is making great progress. She is paying more attention to her personal needs, and setting more limits. She states that she tried to watch the news a little and it got her anxious again, so she decided not to. Now she only looks up what she wants to know. She adheres to her daily practice except this week because she was not feeling well, so she watched a lot of TV.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I feel I am able to listen to my clients, and give them a safe space and adjust to their needs. My client also confirmed this in her feedback.
She enjoyed the guided relaxation in an elevated reclined position, it helped her with her sinus drainage.
She enjoyed a more gentle practice today.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

I will see how she feels and plan accordingly
