Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.

Adjustments and adaptations you made to your care plan,

I did not adapt or adjust the care plan. The clients were able to do both physical and subtle practices as well as participate in the discussion on yogic teaching (sharing their experience practicing Yama and Niyama of choice).

Client/Group Goals

Group goals: Maintain balance, flexibility and strength
Individual client goals:
1. Improve flexibility, balance and breathing
2. Improve flexibility, balance and breathing
3. Practice yoga that emphasizes aging
4. Minimize pain and reduce stress
5. Reduce stress and improve sleep

The group goals were achieved. For individual goals, all goals except one (minimizing pain) were met. The pain level of one client remained the same, although she was able to manage it mentally (not being stressed by it).

I did not revise goals for this group of clients.

Report briefly on each Kosha belowProgress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas
Physical level

The physical level improved overall. The client gained more strength and flexibility as well as had better balance (can stood on one leg for at least 30 seconds in the last session compared to 5 to 10 seconds in the first one).

Energetic level

The energetic level also improved. The clients had more energy overall. Reverse breathing was corrected and client felt that she got more oxygen than before.

Emotional

The clients were much calmer and felt at ease even when countered difficult or challenging situations.

Intellectual / Sense of self

The clients accepted aging process and were less reactive to stressors. Yogic wisdom, especially Yama, Niyama and Klesha have been helpful in shifting the clients' perspectives.

Spiritual orientation and support plan

The clients feel connection with their inner self and all beings (in nature).

Additional Information
Feedback received from client/group, anecdotal or written

The clients mentioned that the series was the most enriched yoga experience for them. Non-attachment was helpful and appropriate in overcoming the disappointment over the election result. Guided Pratyahara relaxion had a profound effect (total relaxation and letting go of all senses).

Sample of homework given between sessions (after initial homework)

1. Meditation focuses on an uplifting word or Kirtan kriya (sa-ta-na-ma) – 5 min daily
2. Breath – Three-part breathing followed by alternate nostril 5 minutes daily
3. Gentle yoga – 30 minutes once a week.
4. Reading material – Pratyahara: the forgotten limb of yoga pratyahara-ebook.pdf (yogavedainstitute.com)

Personal reflection from doing client/group.
Rough estimate of time spent in preparation and follow up documentation per session2 hours
What you would change with benefit of hindsight

I would ask the clients to practice yogic teaching of choice each week and share with the class. I only thought of this activity toward the end of the series.

Questions, problems, areas in which you’d like more support

I do not have any questions.

Did you enjoy your service?

I enjoy bringing yogic teachings to the group class. I had to put a lot of thoughts into it to make the teachings relatable and for the clients to be able to adapt to their daily life.
