Homework assignment to client/group

She did the deep breathing exercises. She was happy that the weather was a bit warmer and she was able to sit on her balcony several times, this is her favorite place in her house. Talked about how she could turn this into a meditation and she states that she would consider it.

Activities

Checking in about her mood she states that is is fair. She had PT the same day in the morning and they are working on walking up the stairs in her house with leg brace and cane. Her leg did not want to cooperate as she was hoping and this made her feel depressed. She states that she likes the tense and release leaning into yoga nidra last time and she is looking forward to it again today.
Centering with body scan and deep breathing.
Shoulder rolls, at the same time and with opposite shoulders like a swimming crawl motion.
She is able to use her right hand to guide her left hand and arm.
Started out with mobilizing her fingers individually and then interlacing her fingers. Raising her arms with inhale and lowering the arms with exhale.
ringing both arms out to her middle of the body and then twist to the left and right with the head looking over the opposite shoulder.
circling both wrists together
cat cow in the chair
circles in the chair
forward bend in the chair
back ward bend
2 sets of leg raises 5 times each
kicking leg forward
tense and release followed by a brief guided meditation

Client/Group progress summary

The client had a lot of losses and she is grieving these loses but she does not like to verbalize her emotions much, but sometimes she states that she is sad being confined to the wheelchair and her house so much. She does have good friend that will come by but most of them are still working. She misses her work, she was able to to to a small 20 year work anniversary for her. This was the first time that she was back at work after the stroke.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I am able to provide a safe space to the client and she is sharing with me but it is difficult to get to deeper layers.
Her energy is still mostly tamasic.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

continue with the current plan.
she will be working on mobilizing her finger in the left hand with her right hand , as she is already doing this with occupational therapy, but her progress is very slow.
