Homework assignment to client/group

She also continued to read the Yamas and niyamas with focus on svadhyaya, self study.
She states that she started the training as a death doula and this chapter on self study really resonates with her since it is also very important to know yourself when being with the a dying person.
She states that a saying caught her attention:
"we don't see things as they are we see things as we are"
This goes very well with her current training, because they don't want to label things in the training.
She is exited about this training and feels more creative again.

Activities

Coming back to practice after holiday break, client did not practice yoga but she did continue with her breathing practice.
We discussed her homework and reading about svadhyaya. Her level of pain, she states that she is currently not in pain and her mood is good, she is also not feeling anxious.
We stated with centering, deep breathing,
neck roll, arm circles, and chest openers.
When then pressing the hands together in prayer position she did not feel any pain, which is a great improvement to before when she had pain just pushing her hands together lightly.

Client/Group progress summary

She states that she noticed that the winter time in general is a time too hibernate for she "feels like a bear", her energy is much lower in the winter. She did not practice yoga due to traveling to her family over that holidays. She also did not sleep so well because she was sleeping in a reclining chair at her brothers place. But now that she is back home her sleep is improving.
Her anxiety is much improved, she states that being with her little nieces always improves her anxiety because little kids are so much in the moment and being with them helps her being in the moment.
Her energy is mixed, as mentioned above she feels that her energy level is lower in the winter, but she enjoys her current training and finds purpose in that she she feels energized from that and has productive days.
Her concentration is lacking at times because sometimes she forgets appointments she has made previously. She feels that she could benefit from more grounding.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I feel that I listen well to the client and adapt the practice to her needs.
Its is a lot of fun discussing her insights about svadhyaya and her self reflection, I was delighted to see her enthusiasm about her training as a death doula and that she felt she might have found a new path for herself and is curious about her progression on the path.
I was also happy to see that she pain improved and her anxiety is gone.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

I am curious what she brings to the next session, I encouraged her to start practicing her yoga again
