Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.

Adjustments and adaptations you made to your care plan,

I dialed back on various tools and practices when I realized I was trying to do too much in one session.

Client/Group Goals

All in all, I believe the participants learned some substantive, on-the-spot tools and practices for managing their stress. They also gained a better sense of how their bodies function under stress and the importance of self care.

Report briefly on each Kosha belowProgress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas
Physical level

I sensed and observed participants' ability to relax into their bodies and appreciate them for all they do. I think some, if not all, gained reference points for identifying their experience either in a stressed or relaxed physical state.

Energetic level

I believe participants' awareness of the Gunas has helped them tune-in to their breath and body state to gauge their current energy level throughout the day.

Emotional

Participants really appreciated our discussion around Ahimsa and self-compassion. Just taking a few deep breaths to let go of all that we tend to hold in was moving for most of them.

Intellectual / Sense of self

Participants have a better appreciation of themselves and all they do under relentless demands on our bodies and psyches just to get through a given day. They see it's too much and that we must find a way to dial-back and take better care of ourselves.

Spiritual orientation and support plan

Participants gained new insights regarding their Witness - just being able to step back and observe their thoughts and not identify with them was meaningful for most. Remembering the teaching of Ahimsa was also helpful with self-appreciation and self-compassion for all that they do.

Additional Information
Feedback received from client/group, anecdotal or written

My friend Michelle, who organized the group told me that I 'rocked' it. Truth be told I don't believe her. Others were complimentary - several said they liked my soothing voice during yoga nidra. They appreciated the breathing practices.

Sample of homework given between sessions (after initial homework)

- Breathing practices - gauge your current energy level using the Gunas, then either practice 3-Part Breath, if amped up, or Breath of Joy if sluggish.
- Practice Cat/Cows, Side Bends and Twists at least 3x per week. Just takes 5 to 10 minutes
- Meditate for 5 minutes at least 2x per week.

What you would change with benefit of hindsight

I would have worked more on my fear around public speaking before starting this group.

Questions, problems, areas in which you’d like more support

Need help with anxiety around public speaking. It's exhausting and debilitating. I love researching, gathering and organizing material. It's just the presentation that's been most challenging.

Did you enjoy your service?

Most challenging. Again, enjoyed the preparation involved, the presentation was another matter.
