Homework assignment to client/group

LM states that she did not due the asanas for homework because she was ill and felt weak. She did do breathing practices daily because she had trouble breathing when she had the flu. She was able to sleep. Her mood was ok but she is noticing as she feels that things are out of her control she is feeling more anxious. She denies any pain today.
LC states that she did some asanas, she likes cat cow a lot and she does it pretty regularly. She did do breathing practices because her lungs hurt and she found it helpful. She also realized that she had to limit her time on social media. She has to follow social media some because of her work, but she does not want her mood to be influenced by negative comments. Her energy is low, her sleep is good.
BD she had a better week than last week. She feels like she has to follow the news but wants to stay mindful in her daily activities. For example when she is turning wood it is a meditative practice for her, or when she is digging in the dirt it is meditative for her. She did do daily breathing practice and her favorite pose which is also cat cow.
SK she states that her sleep continues to be interrupted. She went to a party, had red wine, cheese and chocolate which caused her to have a headache, so she knows that this was bit overindulgence. Her mood is fragile and the news causes her to be numb. She knows that early in her childhood her parents continued to talk about the holocaust and she learned to withdraw. Her energy is good, she continues to go to PT and denies pain today.

Activities

Checked in with the group. LM and LC state that they both had the flu last week and they are slowly getting back to their baseline. Introduced the concept of asteya (non stealing) and the different implications, for one not stealing time. LC states that she works with non profit organizations and it is an important topic how to divide resources properly, especially in times of scarcity, people will take what they can get without taking other people into consideration. She talked about equity as a concept for non stealing. L M feels as she is getting older she is not comparing herself so much to others.

Client/Group progress summary

The group is making progress together I feel that it was remarkable that last week every one said that despite the news their mood was good but today they shared that the news is affecting them more than they thought. I feel that because they are paying more attention to their body they are also paying more attention to the more subtle koshas and they are reflecting on this.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I continue to have fun talking with them about yoga teachings and guiding them through an asana practice that requires different accommodations, for example paying attention to their shoulders, their hips and different pain from arthritis.
They enjoyed the guided yoga Nidra a lot. I incorporated one sense of all the members for example, green, sound of water, smell of fresh baked bread and petting their favorite animal.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

I will continue with my current practice and adjust to my groups needs.
