Activities

Questions? Teeth he went to the dentist and had 2 pulled and used some hydrocodone. It felt weird to him and for a few days was unable to feel grounded.
Back to Kleshas and what is an obstacle for him now?
Feels alone and unloved -can be quite lonely when he doesn’t have his practices and company to keep him going. Not really afraid of dying just hoping he can be independent again.
He feels he lacks courage when he gets overwhelmed by spiraling thoughts. So far he has been able to turn it around by reading, watching Ram Das, talking with friends, and visits from people.
Smoking? 95% edibles, he still smokes 5-10% of the time.

HW follow up
Breath doing NS and is attempting to lengthen exhale while doing it-focus around the tooth thing made it difficult so he just worked on lengthened exhale.
Journal? Yes he is writing more personal short notes, and reflections.
Movement exercises Legs and arms 2 x day

Practice
Connect to breath, deepen and lengthen inhale and exhale -pause between. We revisited the slow, deep calm breath. He has not been really paying attention to mechanics last few weeks.
Exhale om (to help feel and hear the breath) Listen to the om and feel the vibration. Likes this
Pause on spaces between IN retention and EX suspension

Joint movement feet to neck review( notice more movement on L side and less jerkiness)
Continue to use his Om with movement. Alt sides exercise
Legs butterfly
Bridge improved smoothness and less height when he worked well with his breath. I try to get him to connect the movement with a smooth breath because the PT wants height and results -I’m looking for quiet strength and smooth, coordinated movement.
Grounding guided visualization.

Client/Group progress summary

Client had dental appointment and was on painkillers for a few days and that led to a set back in his ability to do HW
I reviewed a lot of our movement practices and had a good conversation about fear and fear of dying.

Reflection and self-evaluation

Since he had this set back, I felt we had to review his exercises and some breathing. I did a grounding visual relaxation prior to leaving him.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
