| Client/Group progress summary | Having her brother’s photo puts her in context and reminds herself that her brother is not her whole world. She is now not looking at the loss of her brother as such a sadness. she stopped talking to men after her brother’s death at age 4. It is not that she goes out of her way to talk to men. With this new understanding and consciousness, how to be herself and all the guys she sees are not her brother and not looking for her brother in all the men she sees now. She said that she now has good boundaries when she is talking to men. Having an altar for her brother makes her think like he has been protected by God and somehow her love for her brother is seen by him. She shared that after her meditation, she doesn’t want to do anything. She feels calm and doesn’t want to be bothered by anything. She also talked about her anger issues and guided her to notice where she feels the anger in her body, and gently focus only on stretching that part of the body and breathing into that body part without pushing the anger or numbing herself or entangling with the anger. And suggested to remind herself that it is ok to feel anger and allow or give permission to the anger to leave when it is ready to leave. And incorporated the same in the quick stress buster routine we practiced. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | I am grounding myself before seeing the clients by lighting a lamp and chanting "Thryambakam.." 3 times before and after the session. For this particular client, she is all over the place, her thoughts jump from one to another, like I had before. So, I am paying more attention to grounding myself throughout the session by scrubbing my feet, gently palming my hands, pausing, breathing etc. Constantly bringing my awareness to listening to her and pausing her when she begins to go overboard. She is a challenging client for me so far. But I am glad I am able to assist her to find her ways. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
