| Client/Group progress summary | Client opened up about his relationship issues with his mom. His relationship with his mom was good and loving except the part that his mom believes his injury was due to karma and that he should repeat certain verses from the Quran to ask for forgiveness and to relieve and heal from his injury. She is also not appreciative of his efforts put on PT and daily activities of life. That belief system completely throws the client off and he doesn't buy in with those rituals of his mother. Client went on a vacation all my himself and spent time on meeting friends and Kayaking. He felt mentally and physically exhausted after his trip and was taking it very light for the couple of days after his trip. Part of his mental exhaustion was due to his conversation with his mother. We had a talk about the practices that are most beneficial for him to further design his care plan. Client expressed his preference with more breathing practices as he wants to connect with his breath more and uses breath as a starting point to explore more complex yoga philosophies. He sees asana practice as breathing with movement and meditation as breathing in stillness. He likes to pick some Raja yoga sutras that he likes the most and would like to revisit them more often. He thinks that Jnana yoga was very difficult for him as he thinks his mental battle is already messed up, he will eventually get there but right now it was his weakest part. He expressed that Sutra 1.2 is his favorite sutra so far. So we decided to do more of yogic practices such as asana, breathing techniques, meditation, chanting, yoga nidra, and guided imagery and less yoga philosophy for the future sessions. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | I felt like I have established a good relationship with Yaz as he started sharing about his relationship struggles. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
