| Homework assignment to client/group | Members were asked to continue an evening release ritual consisting of five conscious breaths, one supported hip opener, and a short reflection on the prompt, “What did I release today?” They were encouraged to use art, journaling, or simple movement as outlets for emotional processing. Participants were reminded to observe their experiences with compassion, without judgment or expectation of results. |
| Activities | This week’s theme, “Letting Go to Make Space,” focused on the art of release. The session began with grounding breathwork and transitioned into gentle flowing sequences targeting the hips and shoulders to address common areas of emotional holding. Participants were guided through imagery of water and fluidity, encouraging movement with grace and surrender. The creative component involved watercolor pens mandala painting, where participants expressed visually what they were ready to release. Group sharing afterward revealed powerful connections between physical sensations and emotional experiences. |
| Client/Group progress summary | The group displayed deeper embodiment and increased trust in the process. Participants shared feeling lighter, more emotionally open, and surprised at how movement and creative practice helped them process lingering emotions. A few reported emotional fatigue and overwhelm midweek, which was normalized as a part of the release cycle. The supportive group dynamic helped members validate one another’s experiences and find encouragement in shared vulnerability. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | The integration of art and movement proved highly effective in deepening emotional awareness and self-regulation. I noticed improved body-mind connection and more comfort with self-expression across participants. I felt I was able to maintain and hold space for emotional integration at the close of practice to support nervous system balance, particularly after emotionally charged sessions and sharing. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | Week 3 will explore “Clarity & Expression,” inviting participants to access inner truth and communicate it authentically. The session will include heart-opening movement, gentle humming or toning to stimulate the vagus nerve, and a creative free-writing activity titled “What truth wants to be spoken?” This session aims to foster clarity, confidence, and compassionate communication with oneself and others. |
