| Total Session Minutes | 60 |
| Homework assignment to client/group | Participants were invited to take a daily grounding walk or practice a 5-minute grounding breath, noticing the sensation of the feet on the floor and the earth beneath them. Journaling prompts included: “Where do I feel grounded?” and “Where do I feel unsteady or disconnected?” Participants were encouraged to spend brief moments in nature or stillness each day to reinforce embodied grounding. |
| Activities | The group was introduced to the elemental framework and how yoga therapy relates to physical, emotional, and energetic balance. A brief foundational explanation of each element was provided for participants new to the concept, along with a handout outlining the qualities of earth, water, fire, air, and ether. Practices focused on grounding postures, slow and steady breathwork, and sensory-based awareness to build internal stability and reconnect with the physical body. Participants explored the felt sense of heaviness, rootedness, and support through restorative shapes, mindful transitions, and stillness. |
| Client/Group progress summary | Participants demonstrated openness and curiosity as they began connecting to their bodies with more presence. Several members noticed areas of holding, guarding, or fatigue, while others shared moments of calm they had not accessed in some time. Early trust and group cohesion began to form, with participants expressing relief at having a dedicated space to slow down and feel supported. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | Participants reflected on how challenging it can feel to pause and soften, yet acknowledged the value in creating stillness and reconnecting with physical sensation. Many noticed tension patterns associated with grief, stress, or responsibility, and expressed a desire to continue exploring grounding as a tool for emotional steadiness. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | Next session will focus on the Water Element, using breath and movement to support emotional flow, gentle release, and softening physical and emotional holding patterns. We will introduce practices for cultivating fluidity, ease, and emotional awareness. |
