Client/Group progress summary

Stress Level (6) 3-4, (7) 8, (8) 8,
(6) experiencing lower back pain from sitting too long for work but has been practicing the warmups for her back.
(7) client is practicing pranayama and meditation daily, is exercising more frequently. She is still experiencing lower back pain. Her stress level has gone down significantly, she feels it is because she exercises and daily pranayama and meditation. She felt this session was very energizing and challenging.
(8) Client continues to be stressed due to workload and having had the flu. She is caught up with her workload now. The client would benefit from a daily practice. Client was frustrated because nephews are spending time in her parents and her home disrupting her routine and environment. Client requested to change the day for the sessions to Saturday mornings.
(9) the client showed up with cramps and stress due to taking a flight later in the day; client does not have a daily practice but uses the tools when needed; I emphasized how important to have a daily practice to reduce stress.
(10) client appeared stressed and expressed being tired and having cramps; client has been practicing daily affirmations/pranayama and meditation (no particular meditation practice). Client has also incorporated daily walking in the morning, is eating a healthier diet and has noticed the improvement in her sleeping pattern. Client has been incorporating all tools learned to date when needed; and has been monitoring sleeping and heart rate.
(11) Client appeared upset because she had received sad news about mother having skin cancer and needing surgery; also complaining of mid back pain

Reflection and self-evaluation

(8) The session went well, I met the client where she was at and we discussed again to do her best and when the workday is over to leave the rest for the following day. I agreed to change the session days to Saturdays during the summer to accommodate the client. Body mind-based sessions seem to de-stress the client.
(9) The session went well and the client stated that she felt so much better after, no more cramps and no stress. I feel these sessions are more of a private yoga class eventhough I apply raja yoga and the session is effective in reducing stress. Baby steps in motivating client to a daily practice. I did not get to discuss pratipaksha bhavana in relation to her nephews but I did discuss it in relation to switching a negative thought with a positive thought in general.
(10) The session went well. During check in I advised the client that I have scheduled a challenging session and to let me know at any time if she was experiencing lower back discomfort. During the session I continuously asked the client how the lower back was feeling. I included a lot of observation in the session.
(11) I meditated and prayed prior to our session and felt that I was able to support the client and guide through a session that was very relaxing.

I had a challenging asana session prepared for the client but since the client is menstruating I provided a gentler asana and lengthened the relaxation portion of the session to meet the clients needs; I introduced natarajasana as the balancing pose and the client stated it is now her favorite pose.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

(8) Discuss pratipaksha bhavana in relation to her nephews being in her environment during the week, maybe look at it as a time to deepen her relationship with them and become a mentor. Discuss keeping a planner and scheduling an appointment with herself to review her workload and create a priority list prior to the workday - this has been very beneficial for me in my work/life balance. Once it is written down, I do not allow myself to think about work until the scheduled time. Continue with body mind practice session to regulate the nervous system.
Discuss the benefits of having a daily practice.
(9) a challenging asana practice to ground and strengthen the client.
(10) continue with a challenging session; focus on breathwork, introduce kapalabhati
challenging class for strengthening
(11) continue with a challenging session; focus on breathwork, introduce kapalabhati
