| Homework assignment to client/group | JY was encouraged to complete the Core Brackets worksheet during the week, moving through it at her own pace. She was also given a journaling prompt: “Where do I feel aligned with my values in my life right now, and where do I feel tension or strain?” I emphasized that there was no right or wrong answer and that noticing her experience was more important than getting clarity right away. |
| Activities | This session focused on self-study (Svādhyāya) and values awareness. We began with gentle, slow movement to help her settle into her body and arrive in the space, followed by a period of seated reflection. I introduced the Core Brackets worksheet as a simple way to explore core values. Throughout the session, I invited JY to pause and notice how different values landed in her body, paying attention to sensations of ease, tension, or heaviness as they came up. |
| Client/Group progress summary | JY was thoughtful and engaged throughout the session and seemed to appreciate having a clear, structured tool to work with. She was able to name several values that feel important to her and began noticing where her current life does and does not reflect those values. While some emotions surfaced, she remained grounded and curious rather than overwhelmed. She shared that the process felt validating and gave language to feelings she has had for a long time. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | I focused on keeping the session spacious and non-directive, allowing JY to arrive at her own insights without interpretation or pressure. I noticed that grounding and movement before reflection helped her stay regulated as emotional material emerged. Overall, the balance of movement, inquiry, and rest felt appropriate, and I will continue to move slowly with reflective work. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | In the next session, I plan to build on this work by introducing dharma exploration through curiosity-based reflection. We will use tools such as the Good At / Enjoy / Called To framework, along with prompts like “What fills my cup?” and “What makes me feel most alive?” while continuing to prioritize nervous system support and choice. |
