Homework assignment to client/group

She will do some writing and artwork on the subject of her True Self, the Divinity within, as exploration of how this shows up for her.
Will review the gunas sheet again.
Will attend chair yoga class again.
I emailed her a handout on Raja Yoga, the IY multifaith chant sheet, and a link to the chants on YouTube.

Activities

Reviewed her weekend at Yogaville. She ended up taking a different program on Living our Dharma because the yoga for cancer weekend was canceled. We talked about how the living dharma program ended up being exactly what she needed since this is precisely what she's discerning at this point. Discussed the teachings of ahimsa and satya and interfaith teachings that resonate with her.
Discussed stream of consciousness and our individual lives as whirlpools in the stream (Sw. Vivekananada).
Discussed koshas again. She has trouble sensing the divinity of her True Self. I explained how this deepest part of ourself might feel empty (peaceful) or full (of love or something similar).
Reviewed chair asana, Breath of Joy, and 3-part breath.
Practiced together the IY multifaith chants (she loved this!)

Client/Group progress summary

Client is very motivated and continues to make good progress. She always shows up happy to be in the yoga therapy sessions, and prepared to work together.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I'm continually amazed by this client's motivation and happy to see her making good progress. I believe I'm doing a good job of meeting her where she is, and challenging her appropriately.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

Follow up with artwork or writing on True Self.
Follow up on Raja Yoga handout or other topics she may bring up.
Restorative asana and guided meditation.
Will ask about her favorite colors, animals, places, and other subjects to use for creating a personalized guided meditation for our following session.
