| Total Session Minutes | 90 |
| Homework assignment to client/group | The client already indicated that she had scheduled more days off for the month of May in order to avoid setting herself up to return to a state of overwhelm. With her work schedule she had gotten off her routine of attending weekly yoga classes, however she had continued her daily walks with Mela, which she plans to continue. Additional homework for her: Continue - Nadi Shodhana to help balance energy as an alternative to afternoon sweets and caffeine |
| Activities | Check In Awareness Practice Restorative Yoga Practice: Mountain Brook, Supported Supta Matsyendrasana, Supported Apaavitra Mandukasana, spending 8 minutes with each pose Shavasana Pranayama: Nadi Shodhana |
| Client/Group progress summary | The client arrived at the session completely exhausted. During check in she shared that she had overloaded herself this month with shifts of both jobs, and had only 2 days off from work over the past month - and during those days off she filled them with household chores. While physically exhausted she again described herself as mentally and energetically not being grounded and "being on a hamster wheel." At the end of the practice she described herself as grounded, relaxed, and calm. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | This was a session where I had to throw my ideas/plan out the window to meet the client where she was. She had just gotten off work from the gym (our meeting place) 15 minutes before the session, otherwise she would not have had the energy to attend and would have cancelled. Since she chose to show up and wanted support and a safe space, I do feel it was the right call to offer a restorative practice to her, in looking through the lenses of ahimsa, bramicharya, tapas and svadyaya. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | The client indicated she would like to continue meeting once a month as our schedules permit. |
