Physical

This client is healthy weight and strong active body. She has physical pain all along her right side from spondylosis and piriformis syndrome that varies on the pain scale btw 3-6 depending on her stress and her sleep patterns.

Client/Group goalsmanaging pain and stress
Energetic

She has active energy, busy work and family life.
Her breath is held in her chest and is shallow.

Emotional

She expresses that she holds a lot of her emotions in and doesn't share with family, friend or co workers what she is feeling often. She "always has it together"

Spiritual orientation and needs

She is not religious or spiritual, doesn't appear to be too open in that regard.

Intellectual / Sense of self

This is client understands her self in a healthy way but she knows she need guidance to make the positive changes that she needs.
She is open and ready for the changes and excited to learn about yoga a deeper way.

Yoga philosophy/wisdom research reference(s)

Yoga Sutra 2.33

Replacing negative thoughts with positive thoughts.

While i won't be quoting this is a yoga sutra ,yet, i am adding this concept and wisdom in a meditation.

The goal is that she can control negative feelings and thoughts by replacing them for positive for the goal of her aiding herself back to sleep.
My hope is that this teaching will also benefit her work and family life stress.

Scientific research reference(s), why chosen, how you plan to incorporate 1-3

Head and Neck tilts and gentle rotation, it good to allow the neck to move to release tension.
Contraindications are Plank, push ups because of the strain on the neck.

Resting pigeon and bicycle, side bends while seated and legs out, standing hip rotations, seated twists to help release the lower back.
Contraindications are downward dog when the pain is acute and avoid her Peloton.

3 part breath to connect the lower part of her body to the breath.
alternate nostril breathing to activate the parasympathetic nervous system reducing stress
Ha breath, this powerful breath for allowing her to release and activate her throat (voice)
I didn't find any contraindications of breathwork, but I and going to avoid breath of fire until she begins to breath deeper

This client is very private so I going to hold space for her to get in touch with her emotional body there the physical and energy body for the first few sessions.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
