Yoga philosophy/wisdom research reference(s)

I will use the concept of ahimsa non violence to teach mindfulness and to pay attention to the body and the bodies needs. From there I will expand to satya truthfulness , asteya none stealing and bramacharya non excess.
I the teachings are helpful because they built on each other and it give the classes a certain structure and progression.
Especially with a history of breast cancer women often feel violated and are experiencing a lot of loss even in the sense of self worth of being a women.
Non violence we don’t want to harm our selfs but the cancer has harmed the body and the medical treatments are adding to the harm.We need to stay truthful to our bodies needs and limitations. We don’t want to steal from our body in turn we want to built on the positives, with this create a new sense of self even with new limitations but these can be helpful with a new appreciation for life and to better understand others in similar situations.Non excess self us to conserve energy and learn to appreciate what we still have and are able to do.
As resource I am using the book the Yamas and Niyamas by Deborah Adele

Scientific research reference(s), why chosen, how you plan to incorporate 1-3

Stress management integra yoga TT.
I will use the principles of yoga for stress management because all clients in the group are experiencing stress and will benefit for learn breathing practices to help reduce stress and anxiety.Chest breathing is of the result of chronic anxiety but it can itself initiate anxiety and trigger a stress response, perpetuating the stress cycle. breathing practices can lower cortisol levels and therefore decrease inflammation in the body
I will use postures out of the two books mentioned above because all my clients deal with depression and anxiety, even it in some it has not reached the level of a formal DSM V diagnosis.the clients also have a hx of great cancer or a family history of breast cancer

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
