Homework assignment to client/group

Continue journaling. Continue finding ways to substitute smoking with the various different practices received in the last 3 sessions. Track in her daily Planner how much she smokes each day and when she has been able to substitute smoking with one of the practices, write down in the Planner the practice that she substitute smoking with each time so that she has a record of what is working for her.

Continue the routine she has of chair asana, breathing practice and meditation. Review the Personal Meditation Routine sent with her summary incorporate what she can, and we will discuss it at next session.

Activities

Centering, body scan, guided meditation with love, light and white healing light to her lungs, plus periods of silence. (Client was late by 14 minutes so we had to skip chair asana). Netra Vyayamum was taught and practiced and the instructions were sent to her in the summary.

Client/Group progress summary

Client had planned to quit smoking in the middle of May while on a getaway vacation with her friends. But she has found it very hard to stop smoking cold turkey. Client has had some success recently with substituting smoking with Finger Compression practice. Netra Vyayamum was introduced as another alternative to smoking.

Client has been noticing her inner stressors and she has started journaling. But while on her vacation she had a strong reaction to something that happened with one of her friends. She realizes/knows that she did not have to react. We discussed that the Universe tests us. That morning prior to this incident, she had mentioned that she had an intention of doing a group meditation with her friends, but she did not do one. Thus, she did not follow through with her intuition and if she had it is possible that she would not have had a strong reaction to her friend.

This session we discussed her meditation routine in more detail. We talked about the importance of going longer and deeper in meditation and how this will allow her to cultivate intuition and how the work that we do (via meditation) on ourselves will also help us follow through on the intuition.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I felt that could speak with client more freely about going deeper into meditation, meaning longer and deeper to commune with God and her Spirit Guides.

I had my own long meditation before meeting the client and I felt more in tune with how to serve this client.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

Lead 10-20 minutes of asana, relaxation, pranayama, and meditation.

Discuss Personal Meditation Routine. How is the journaling working for her.
Review and discuss the wisdom teachings on desire and expectation. Inquire about how it's going with the substitutes for smoking we spoke about.
