| Session Instructions (Not Mentoring) | Your session outline should be a practice adapted to the needs of that client, including:
Tools from each module should be used (not on each client – but overall) |
| Session Date | 05/14/2024 |
| Session Number | 3 |
| Total Session Minutes | 75 |
| Homework assignment to client/group | Hand to heart center with slow steady, calm ujjayi breathing. Extended exhale. Take breath breaks throughout the day. |
| Activities | Seated and standing warm-up and stretches. As per care plan: same without supine sequence. Incorporated standing leg swings with toe taps to free hip joints, and extension to stretch hip flexors and counter hip flexion from many hours of sitting. |
| Client/Group progress summary | The client’s stress level is still quite high. They cite caring for her aged, ailing dog; caring for their father, along with the demands of growing their mental health practitioner practice as they cope with persistent pain and fatigue. Client quote of the day, “Do I really need to be a humane?” Our sessions connect her to her subtle body and relieve some of the stress of living in her physical body. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | The client finds our real-time sessions to be very calming and refreshing, fortifying them to go on with her day, like a mid-workday retreat. Empower the client to utilize tools of breath and guided meditation to create the same qualities on her own. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | Along with stretching, joint mobility, and breath practices, include moving meditation with hand gestures and guided relaxation from Diane Brody’s Daring to Rest book. Record the guided relaxation for client’s use between our sessions. Reinforce yoga mini breaks of movement and breathwork. |
