| Total Session Minutes | 105 |
| Homework assignment to client/group | Spend time in nature. Krishna mantra repetition. Kirtan Kriya finger tapping practice. Back muscle release at the wall and down dog at the wall. |
| Activities | Check-in. Grounding. Centering with Krishna mantra repetition, Sanskrit and translation. Seated warm-up. Back muscle release with tennis ball in long sock at the wall. Downward facing dog to plank at the wall. Experimentation with the 1” yoga brick under her left foot to compensate for the unequal leg length and level her pelvis. Tried Warrior I, horse stance, star, and downward facing dog. Discomfort and pain were eased in all shapes. Client was pleased. Client’s PT exercise sequence with focus on the breath. Constructive rest. Guided relaxation, Joseph lePage, Soothing Inner Tide Pool, very healing imagery. Closing with 3 Oms. Client refection. |
| Client/Group progress summary | The muscle release technique dissipates muscular back tension effectively. Practicing the complete Kirtan Kriya practice is somewhat anxiety producing for the client. She feels afraid that she’ll “mess up.” She’ll move toward the complete practice progressively in stages, starting with the finger tapping. The client continues to feel refreshed and relaxed with a lightened mood at the end of our sessions. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | Client was experiencing dizziness when she woke up today. Dizziness was pronounced when transitioning from seated to kneeling or standing. I suggested she consult her PCP about this. The client’s pain level in her lower back was significantly reduced after a cortisone shot in the SI joint (not sure which side) last Friday. It’s encouraging to see the client happy and relaxed at end or our sessions. She seems to appreciate the personal attention and affirming feedback. I am getting better at time management during the sessions, moving things along and reigning in discussions if they start to wander away from the general intent of our sessions. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | Similar to this week, add lower core strengthening and windshield wiper legs. Practice the Kirtan Kriya finger tapping, add the associated ‘sa’ ‘ta’ ‘na’ ‘ma’ sounds. Intake for personalized guided imagery. |
