Continue studying Raja Yoga handout.
Work with handout on pratipaksha bhavana (I sent via email), particularly with his tendency to resent spending money for things that seem nonessential to him.

Activities

Discussed his family vacation to Italy with his wife, parents, and sister. Client spent time processing how he and his younger sister have "diverged" from one another over the years. Client sees that his sister has been "sheltered" by mother and continues to be. We discussed how the client is more able to view the situation from his higher mind (vijnanamaya kosha) now, and will continue to get better at this whenever in the company of his sister.
Discussed the Raja Yoga handout I had emailed. He was surprised it was only one page and had thought it would be something quite simple, but he found it perplexing. We spent time unpacking sutras 1.1-1.7.
Discussed how/why yoga makes him feel very different than a workout. He has recognized this!
Pranayama: slow, deep breathing

Client/Group progress summary

Client continues to make good progress and shows interest in what he is learning about himself.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I have been suffering from insomnia and felt very tempted to cancel this session today, but I kept telling myself, "It's only one session, you can do this!" I didn't have much of a plan for today other than to show up and be present to whatever the client brought up. I believe I was able to do that quite well.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

Discuss pratipaksha bhavana handout.
Restorative asana
Present the four locks and four keys (useful for his relationship with his sister and mother!) and email him the handout.
