Homework assignment to client/group

Client will be out of town at a university campus with her family for the next week.
Standing routine, pelvic tilts, and pranayama twice a day. Daily walks around the campus.
Make healthy vegetarian food choices at the university cafeteria.

Activities

Client and her family have been very ill with some sort of virus (seemingly not COVID). She is feeling better now.
Discussed diet since she very much wants to follow a vegetarian diet but her husband doesn't, and she's also concerned about getting enough variety and protein. Gave the Forks Over Knives website as a resource. Talked about creating complete proteins by combining rice and beans for example. (Just basic info without going beyond scope of practice)
Asana: complete chair practice; reviewed the standing routine she can do on her own (side bending, cow/cat, forward fold, dynamic twists); supine pelvic tilts
Pranayama: slow deep breathing and brahmari for stress relief
Yoga nidra

Client/Group progress summary

Client is stable and feeling better since her illness which greatly limited what she could do physically. This client has a history of meeting me regularly for a while but then disappearing for months or even years at a time. The fact that she is making a point to meet is good progress for her. She states that she really enjoys and looks forward to our time together since it's one of the only things she is able to do for herself.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I felt I was able to meet the client where she is today, rather than pushing her too much or hoping for more progress.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

The client will be out of town next week, but since we meet virtually anyway, she is hoping to have time in her schedule to meet sometime next Friday. Plan: standing asana, supine pranayama, yoga nidra.
