| Homework assignment to client/group | Client was given an additional SRF asana to add to her morning routine. Continue to do Breathe of Joy. Client was taught the Brahmi breath and was sent a video to watch to be able to follow if she forgets. Practicie Praktipaksasha Bhavana to change thoughts and moods and to break and stop the rumination and self-judgement - think of those you love; go for a walk, start laughing, laugh with her son. Start to laugh even if you don’t feel like laughing – ‘fake it till you make it’. Use Breath of Joy or Brahmi Breath. Break the pattern of rumination each time it arises. Do Affirmation in the morning and evening and a few times during the day. |

| Client/Group progress summary | Client reported that she does not do the full Sun Salutation (SS), instead she does a full forward bend and prefers it to the SS. She likes doing the SRF asana’s and she does one of them several times a day. She also likes the Joy of Breath and does it a lot during the day. Discussion on Praktipaksha Bhavana to stop the rumination - to think differently, to do the opposite, to change her environment (go for a walk). Client now uses the Breath of Joy to as a way to stop the rumination and this helps. Discussed Laughing Yoga and she already does this with her son. She likes laughing together with her son as together makes them laugh more. Affirmation - she wants to do it in the morning and before going to bed. I suggested she do this during the day when she needs it as well to reinforce it. Discussed doing short meditation before going to bed and upon waking up. At these times it is easer to relax and go deeper. Discussion on re-directing her to her highest purpose in her life which is being a mother and wife, and that everything else she does is for the benefit of her highest purpose and ultimately to help others. In this context we also touched on Praktipaksha Bhavana to change the way she thinks, and being content with where we are and what is present in our life. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | I find that I have to offer less things in a session. Best to offer over a number of sessions to really learn. To focus on one wisdom teaching in one session, perhaps review it in the next session. I find that reviewing the homework takes a chunk of time. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
