Client/Group progress summary

Client T indicated that he had an emotional moment in the morning of crying that lasted about 20 minutes as he went through boxes of old items. He said that he was thinking back to his past and comparing to now and thinking about what “could have been” and things that he felt he hasn't accomplished. He said that he hasn’t been able to cry or really express emotions in at least 10 years. He called his psychiatrist to check in about the crying and the psychiatrist told him to “keep doing yoga therapy” and was pleased with the emotional release. The client said he actual felt a lot better after crying and described it as a relief. Client T has been speaking up more in Group 1, instead of letting his wife, P, speak for him, which is usually how their relationship dynamic shows up and this session in particular, he was the primary person speaking.

Client P self reported that she had some recent anxiety but applied the meditation and breathing practices that we’ve been using in Group 1 and that it immediately helped her to calm her mind and focus. She’s experienced less Lupus flares since our sessions began.

Reflection and self-evaluation

It was really interesting to check in with the two of them away from the group. I wasn’t really sure what they wanted to discuss when they asked to meet with me separately, so I prepared just a skeleton outline of a plan for our session based on what was showing up in the groups. It worked out really well this way and I was able to adjust our yoga philosophy discussion as well as the emphasis on staying present based on our check in conversation. I was very glad to hear that T had an emotional release and the feedback from his psychiatrist was awesome.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

No plan for a future individual session. These clients will rejoin Group 1 for weekly sessions.
