Presenting Problemphysical healing after cancer and surgeries and abrupt menopause
Physical

She is recovering from breast and lower abdominal surgery, has been cleared to exercise. She needs to build strength back and gain mobility. Scoliosis on her lower back L 4,5 and T1-4 has a curve to the right which causes a bit of pain. She has neuropathy in her hands which shows up when she sleeps.

Client/Group goalsWants to get back her best well being and feel connected to her body and its changes
Energetic

She has motivated energy, really wants to put the work and effort in to these changes. Sleeps well. Her breath is deep but she often forgets to breath.

Emotional

This client is very strong considering what she has been through and is a mother of 4. She realized that she is a people pleaser and thinks of everyone else first. Its a big change she wants to make to care for herself first.

Spiritual orientation and needs

She hasn't expressed interest in the spiritual side of this work, but when I initial presented yoga wisdom in a scientific approach she found in interesting.

Intellectual / Sense of self

She is wants to get back to the strong person she was before she got sick but understands that some changes are here to stay so she is accepting the fact that she needs to regain a connection to herself and her physical body. She also really wants to learn to quiet her mind and meditate and is worried she won't be able to.

Yoga philosophy/wisdom research reference(s)

Yoga Sutra 11.6 False-identification is confusing the nature of the set or Self with the nature of the instrument of perception.

I am choosing this wisdom because she feels like a different body. She is identifying to the perception of her old self, her sick self and the need to be ok and please everyone around her.

Scientific research reference(s), why chosen, how you plan to incorporate 1-3

Guidelines for activity are she is encouraged to do 30 minutes of moderate movement a day and a few times a week to do muscle strengthening activities.

Contraindications are overstretching the areas on the scars, the chest and lower belly.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
