Client/Group progress summary

The client reported that her arm/chest pain resolved since our last session and she thinks it may have been anxiety driven. The client self reported that she ate pizza, a food she knows she shouldn’t eat, and it caused a bad reaction including a breakout of her skin. She said her sleep was off this week and she’s stressed. She said she decided not to do most of the HITT workouts and has not followed their rigid diet plan. She said she recognizes that she needs to take one day at a time and shared that her grandfather used to remind her to be present by saying “Stay where your feet are.” Her grandfather left the body in 2019 and she has struggled with the grief. She showed up in this session very agitated, but calmed down after our centering and physical practice.

Reflection and self-evaluation

This client talks a lot and it was hard to find a balance at first between giving her the space to talk and for me to speak. I decided that in the next session I should start with centering before the check-in to help calm her mind before we talk. I think she needs some practices that will support her grief, but I plan to ease into that as I’m not sure that she’s ready to face the way the her grief is manifesting as what feels like anger, and the way that is impacting the rest of her life.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
