Homework assignment to client/group

move with kindness toward yourself, toward your own body and your own mind. Let your choices be an expression of care. It’s important to keep moving, to be rigorous, with your body and mind. But notice if you are moving from a place of love and compassion, or from a place of judgment.
Without judgment and with compassion, feel a sense of appreciation for your miraculous body, as you bring one hand to your heart and one hand to your belly, feeling your breath in your body. Bring this compassion and appreciation with you.

CENTER: Today, as you move through class, move with kindness toward yourself, toward your own body and your own mind. Let your practice be an expression of care. It’s important to keep moving, to be rigorous, with your body and mind. But notice if you are practicing from a place of love and compassion, or from a place of judgment.
Without judgment and with compassion, notice how you feel today - physically, emotionally, mentally - feel your breath in your miraculous body, as you bring your mind to observe your breath.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I feel like this class really appreciates a “theme”. They’ve commented on a previous teacher and her “flows”. I explain that everyone is different (teachers and class) and that I’ll teach in the most therapeutic way possible for the needs of the group in front of me. This group has asked to be on the mat, and to focus on balance and coordination. I see a need for stress management and mobility as well.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

I will continue with the ahimsa theme, I think until this case study is written. Sequences will continue to be similar, however I want to add more sitting/lying down time (hopefully sitting on a prop!) over time.
