Homework assignment to client/group

I gave different home work assignments to each group member based on their needs.please she to individual soap notes on the clients below.

Activities

This is the second session with my small group of mental health professionals.
I started out with a tea ceremony as previously .
I checked in with the group about the previous session their experience and feedback.
Talked about the concept of satya truthfulness .
MS the member that was not able to come to the first group session due to illness introduced herself to the group and shared her goals and experiences with yoga.
I had decided to do a more formal breath assessment and explained this to the group they were exited and open to it , it was a new experience for everyone.
For the assessment we counted the number of breath per minute , the nostril the breath came in and out. checked in if the breathing was in the chest or if there was involvement of the diaphragm.
yoga poses where first in the chair, chest openers with cactus arms, circles in the chair to work on balance and back strength, leg lifts to work on leg strength.
Then getting up from the chair and behind the chair , with hands on the chair and slowly walking forward to work on forward bend and lower back stretch, the group enjoyed this because the group members are working in office setting and can do this during a break or in between seeing clients.
we then moved to the floor, worked on loosening the hips with windshield wipers , them seated cat -cow.
then hamstring streches with the help of blocks, raised lounges with blocks ,
the lying on the back chest to knee pose, inversion with the help of the block, then lying twist and a lying guided meditation.

Client/Group progress summary

S: M.C. came to the group excited and upbeat, open to practice and to learn.

O: She was a bit anxious and states that she has a lot going on with the recent buy of a house and all the projects around that.which is both exciting and stressful.

A: breathing assessment she is taking 12 breaths in a minute , was breathing through her left nostril, mainly breathing in her chest , but she is familiar with breath work and she liked the breath assessment which she had never done before.

P: will continue to work with the breath she enjoyed combining breath and movement , she liked being reminded of that because she sometimes holds her breath. She enjoyed lying twist and child pose.

T;Satya= truthfulness

H:alternate nostril breathing, child pose and lying twist.

S: L.C.was a little late to class because her granddaughter told her about her unexpected pregnancy and she had to talk with her a little longer. She was excited to get to class and was looking forward to meet the group member that was not able to be in the group last time. She did not have and pain for the group last time and thought it was just right in terms of strengthening and stretching. She also states that she was able to be more mindful in nature, with her animals and she was doing the alternate nostril breathing.

O: She seemed a little stressed and tense initially but was able to settle into the class. We did a breath assessment. She is taking 9 breaths in a minute. She is a chest breather and states that she noticed very little diaphragmatic breathing. She is able to breath to her nose and notice that she was able to change the nostril the breath comes in from right to left.

A: She seems a bit more ragasic but is able to focus on the breath and she is able to move into a more sattvic state with the help of breathing.

P: To continue to work on mindfulness in her daily life. She states that the yoga helps her to be more loose and she wants to continue working on her tension, that she holds in her shoulders.

T: Satya=truthfulness

H: alternate nostril breathing and lying twist, she finds it relaxing and it helps with the tightness in her shoulders.

S.K. came to class a bit more relaxed, she states that she realized last class that she needed to learn to let things at work go and not obsess about them, she states that she felt that she was more able to let go after we talked last session. She wants to continue to work on flexibility and stretching.Since we started out in the chair seating, I place a blanket under her feet, because her feet were not touching the floor, whit this she was sitting in the chair more comfortably.

O:She was able to relax in class easier, states that having a blanket under her feet helps, she feels more grounded and relaxed. She is able to focus more easily and does not get distracted as easily.

A: We did a breathing assessment today. Her number of breaths in 1 minute was 14.She is mainly a chest breather with a little diaphragmatic involvement. She states that she practices breathing when she is playing the saxophone. She was able to breathe through her nose and air was coming in in her left nostril. She was more balanced today,She states that she talked to her colleague that left so suddenly and was able to tell her how she felt about that and told her that she could not give her a recommendation for her future employer. We talked about satya truthfulness and she states that integrity is very important to her.

P: We worked on hamstring stretches with blocks and lunges, she enjoys that a lot.She did develop cramping in her legs during child pose, placing a pillow under her shins helped with the cramping. We will continue to work on stretching.
Homework was hamstring sketches with blocks.
She also got more anxious in savasana. In the guided relaxation she states that she always had difficulties with increased anxiety in savasana, and would often leave class early before savasana .
Will try next time savasana in an elevated reclined position.

Reflection and self-evaluation

the group continues to enjoy the tea ceremony, the like the sense of community each of the members are getting to know each other they enjoy the sharing and the practice together .
One group member has a small farm with animals and suggested for us to come out to her farm to send some time with her animals. She has petting cows and when you spend some time with a cow in a meditative and calm fashion, your breath with come into sink with the cow.
I enjoy the teaching of postures and yoga philosophy .I enjoy the insight I get form the group members.
I did get positive feedback and how the yoga therapy session are changing the experiences of each member.
I am glad the members of the group trust me to share their honest feedback

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

I will continue to check in about home work and experiences
I am planing to talk about Astea=non stealing
I will continue with the yoga practice that we did so far, I got feed back from one member that it takes her a bit longer to get familiar with new poses so she likes the repetition, but also to slowly introduce new practices .
