| Homework assignment to client/group | Follow up with her doctor - ask about the fatigue Check in with herself periodically during the day, especially before her movement choices of the day. How would she describe herself using the gunas? If rajasic, how might she adapt her practice? If tamasic, how might she adjust her practice? |
| Activities | Check In Awareness Practice Introduction to the gunas - article by Swami Satchidananda, Surfing the Gunas - exploring how to view the gunas in different contexts: giving/serving, meditation, as well as the image of the mind like a hurricane lamp. Talked about how she can use the gunas as another way to guide her daily practices. Shavasana |
| Client/Group progress summary | Client had a great trip to Guatemala - she was part of a team that built stoves for three families. She had the opportunity to ride a horse up a volcano. She attended an AA meeting on Friday, then had one of her infusion treatments. She's frustrated with feeling digestive issues following treatment as well as ongoing fatigue. She is following up with her doctor next week, and I encouraged her to ask about the fatigue. |
| Reflection and self-evaluation | While she has been very consistent in moving, the fatigue is a real concern. While she prioritizes her physical practices, I wanted to focus more on the subtle practices - the "working in" of yoga more than the workout/working out. |
| Final Client/Group Report | After seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake) Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report. |
| Plan for next session | See what information she brings following her conversation with her oncologist. From my mudra studies, wanted to explore the vayu mudras with her, as another way to understand and work with her vital energy. |
