Begin to notice how their dosha qualities show up in daily life.
Take an online dosha quiz from Banyan Botanicals.

Activities

Discussion on the 5 koshas. Lecture on the 5 elements and 3 doshas.
Clients took a written dosha quiz and and we discussed the basics of each dosha.
Asana: for kapha dosha - standing work including chair-supported sun salutations. Warrior poses. Core work.
Pranayama: for kapha dosha - kapalabhati ("ha" breath)
Body scan and breath awareness

Client/Group progress summary

Clients were very interested in how the doshas show up in our body/mind. They also had lots to share about the five elements since they have come across this teaching under other subjects such as astrology and natural healing.

Reflection and self-evaluation

I enjoyed watching the clients learn about doshas and how they show up in their lives. They saw how pitta dosha is related to summer time.

Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.
Plan for next session

Lecture on the interaction between gunas and doshas in mental/physical health.
Asana for vata dosha - standing grounding work such as warriors and balancing poses. Seated stretching and strap stretching
