Final Client/Group ReportAfter seeing your client/group (for at least 4 sessions including interactive intake)
Please remember practicum is a learning experience. You’ll learn more from sharing what’s accurate than from what might “look good”. Things you did well, not so well, problems and questions are all valid and useful tools to teach you. We can’t serve you to become the best clinician you can be if you don’t share your challenges and mistakes. Success is anything from which you learn. You can continue to add Session entries after submitting this Final Client/Group Report.

Adjustments and adaptations you made to your care plan,

The biggest one was adapting to his request to explore headstand/salamba shirshasana. I asked what he was looking for and his response was "going upside down," so I offered up a few different ways to explore inversions, keeping his prior rotator cuff injury (and resulting scar tissue from no treatment) in mind.

Client/Group Goals

I consider his exploring and integrating practices into his routine - such as surya namaskar, Dr. Fishman's wall headstand, and what he incorporates from our last session - as progress towards his goal.

Report briefly on each Kosha belowProgress toward wellness or worsening reported by the client/group or that you observed in the following areas
Physical level

Client continuing to move well, paying attention to sensations in his body, and seeking the balance of appropriate challenge without pushing too far.

Energetic level

Client breathes well. While we did not explore as much pranayama in our sessions as I would have liked to, he is a regular attender to my weekly Slow Flow class, where I always explore pranayama practices.

Emotional

Client naturally practices pratipaksha bhavana (so in that sense I guess we did explore a wisdom teaching). With himself I believe he understands his tendencies towards rajas with the "controlled rage" diagnosis and uses his time in the gym as a way to move and release rajasic energy.

Intellectual / Sense of self

Client continues to read books which inspire him on a variety of subjects. Continuously reports great relationship with his wife, Irene and just overall contentment/santosha.

Spiritual orientation and support plan

His goal of "be kind, live life with honor" serves as his compass.

Additional Information
Feedback received from client/group, anecdotal or written

Michael enjoyed the sessions and felt each gave him enough new practices to explore and integrate.

Sample of homework given between sessions (after initial homework)

Continue practice of the postures introduced today. Encouraged him with these practices, his tai chi, even his HIIT and strength training workouts to see how he can incorporate the balance of sthiram and sukham with awareness of his breathing.

Personal reflection from doing client/group.
Rough estimate of time spent in preparation and follow up documentation per session20 minutes
What you would change with benefit of hindsight

Honestly nothing. It was a good learning experience for me to explore my personal attachments and I feel he achieved his goal during our time.

Questions, problems, areas in which you’d like more support

Again I feel I received continuous support during my work with him that I don't have any pressing questions or need for follow up.

Did you enjoy your service?

Yes I did. I feel like I learned a lot about my expectations and attachments that I can continue to explore as I grow in my practice.
